Article: BENEFITS COSMETICS “THEY’RE REAL” EYELINER
As of July 2015 Benefit Cosmetics is officially back in South Africa and I’ve been loving their “They’re Real” liner. It’s a gel liner in a pen that’s made up of a matte black gel formula and promises not to smudge, budge or dry out.
With the introduction of liquid liners application has been made easier with their precision tips and easy glide on colour. But still, somehow, if you don’t have a steady hand, it can be messy and embarrassing. Another challenge with most liquid pen liners is that it often leaves a gap between the line you’ve created and the lashes. To make things easy, Benefit, decided to create the perfect “They’re Real!” push-up liner. The innovative soft AccuFlex Tip hugs your lashline and the closer the line, the bigger the eye! The flat wide guard at the base of the tip guides you to get close to the lashline on any eye shape and the tip material, itself, is soft allowing it to glide easily across the eyelid. The company also employed a unique micro-dose technology to ensure exactly the right amount of formula is dispensed with each twist of the pen.
Women who love the smooth wear and staying power of gel liner but hate using those tiny brushes can now use the first-ever gel in a click pen that still gives the same amazing results. Plus it’s vegan-friendly, noncomedogenic, and does not contain latex. It’s also waterproof and lasts for up to 24 hours (but should be removed before bedtime to prevent the blocking of pores.)
As with all new innovations, practice makes perfect! The first time I tried using this, I failed badly but after a few times I got the hang of it and now I’m in love! Try using just the very top of the AccuFlex tip to get that super-fine line. Rest it along the base of your lashes & slowly guide it along your lash line from corner to corner.
Tip: To avoid clumps and uneven application, wipe the tip before each use and invest in a good make up remover to get this off at night, because it really is waterproof. It really is as easy as it looks, once you get the hang of it.
