The designers kept the momentum and interest from day 1 till the closing of #MBFWA.Absolutely stunning designs&street style. My summary of all the designs were bold and still command attention in very angle. They definitely kept the standard higher. The theme was ‘ Our Heritage Re -Imagined’. Melrose Arch was booming with all things Fashionable from your designers, models,Fashion business communicators,TV personalities to fashion lovers who came to feast their eyes to Street style. The is NO fashion week without street style it compliments everything. MBFWAfrica was a lifetime alongside Africa’s premier fashion talents. Here are my Top 5 designers: 1.Laduma Ngxokolo for Maxhosa Knitwear Known for his vibrant Xhosa-inspired knitwear, Laduma wowed us, yet again, at this year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Africa with colourful jumpers paired with summer shorts. A variety of beautiful pastels and bright colours sang together in great harmony with Pretty neck-scarves. Mr Ngxokolo never disappoints when It comes to his work.vivid bright colours,His collection is understated and very chic making it a timeless collection. The prints are magnificent, out of this world they radiate beauty. I loved the chunky beaded earrings, round sunnies and turquoise headbands made for a bold statement look. I definitely loved the monochrome Laduma displayed it was magic in a simple knit. 2. Laurence Airline. Laurence’s collection was very artistic valuing a lot of bold aesthetics making his collection stand out from the rest. merging of African creativity with modern day living&presented the artwork. The collection is on higher heights reaching the international fashion scene. 3. Tina Lobondi. Tina’s collection was ‘Au Cinema’ which was inspired by actresses whom she admires. Her collection was a hybrid of African and Western designs,Designs I dearly love. She made use of less bright colours and kept it simple yet elegant for the modern woman. Tina’s collection is simply stylish&upholds a lot of sophistication. 4. Marianne Fassler. Marianne’s collection was beautiful so summery&the prints added a nicer feel to it. There were also tribal tattoo’s in the collection putting in a modern touch to it. The neck pieces completed the runway looks. 5. Mai Atafo. Atafo’s collection was inspired presented by a collection for men and women. The collection for men were the beautiful tailored suits in calm&smooth colours. They capture a men’s image so gracefully. The women’s range was inspired by traditional attire. Very cutting edge with a modern twist to it. I love them.
